Breakfast – What’s on the table?

During the Regency period breakfast was known as ‘breaking your fast’ from the evening before. Unlike modern times, breakfast was later in the morning and could be served over hours (especially after an evening of fun). Breakfast could include a variety of food such as: chocolate, honey, hot bread, cold bread, brown bread, white bread, green bread, cakes, some meats etc.

In high society households after breakfast a Chaplin would read a few short prayers.
